Introit for the Third Sunday in Lent

Mine eyes are ever looking unto the Lord, for he shall pluck my feet out of the net: look thou upon me, and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and in misery.
Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul: my God, in thee have I trusted; let me not be confounded.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Music: Sufjan Stevens

Partly because the combox has gotten a bit more intense than usual of late and I thought we could use a change of pace, but also because it's Christmas and I'm extremely fond of it, I am sharing this song by Sufjan Stevens. He's about the only artist I've run into so far whose Christmas albums are actually interesting -- they certainly maintain his wonderful blend of folk, indie, and pure experiment. And this particular one, with its accompanying cartoon, is just adorable.

  1. Absolutely love these albums and could go on and on about the standout tracks, but I'll say for now that "Christmas in the Room" is a poignant favorite.
