Collect
Collect for the Fourth Sunday after Trinity
O God, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: increase and multiply upon us thy mercy; that, thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal; grant this, O heavenly Father, for the sake of Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Music: Sufjan Stevens
Partly because the combox has gotten a bit more intense than usual of late and I thought we could use a change of pace, but also because it's Christmas and I'm extremely fond of it, I am sharing this song by Sufjan Stevens. He's about the only artist I've run into so far whose Christmas albums are actually interesting -- they certainly maintain his wonderful blend of folk, indie, and pure experiment. And this particular one, with its accompanying cartoon, is just adorable.

Absolutely love these albums and could go on and on about the standout tracks, but I'll say for now that "Christmas in the Room" is a poignant favorite.
